Guest post tracking

A guest post tracker from pitch to live link

SEOENV works as a guest post tracker: see every guest post by stage, with writer and dates, then check the published link like any other. Directory and profile listings sit in the same account.

Free plan: 20 links, 2 clients, 2 projects. Paid plans from $29/mo.

The problem

Pitches get lost between the inbox and the sheet.

Guest posts take weeks. Listings get submitted and forgotten.

A guest post moves through pitch, acceptance, writing and publication, often across several people. Without stages, nobody knows which drafts are late or which published posts still carry the link. Directory and profile listings are worse: they are submitted once and never looked at again.

Guest posting is slow by nature. A pitch can sit for weeks before an editor replies, and a draft can stall for weeks more. That is fine when you can see it. It becomes a problem when a promising pitch is forgotten, two people pitch the same site, or a published post is quietly edited and the link removed. Stages make the slow parts visible, and checks protect the result once the post is live.

Guest Posts

Every post, by stage.

Pitched, Accepted, Writing, Published, or Rejected.

Each guest post carries its stage, target site, writer, word count and dates. Once it is Published, the link joins the Link Tracker and is checked like any other, so a quietly edited post shows up as Lost.

  • See the pipeline: filter posts by stage to find what is stuck.
  • Keep the history: Rejected pitches stay on record.
  • Check the result: published links get a status and type.

Listing Backlinks

Directories and profiles in one list.

Free or featured, every listing recorded.

Log directories, review profiles and citations in Listing Backlinks, with whether the listing is free or featured. Each one is checked, so a listing that disappears is easy to spot.

  • One list: every listing, per client.
  • Know what you paid: free versus featured listings.
  • Spot removals: Lost and Broken listings stand out.
Keep the pipeline moving

Habits that keep guest posts on track.

  • Log every pitch. Even the ones you expect to be Rejected. A record of who said no saves duplicate pitches later.
  • Set a date at Accepted. Add the due date when a site accepts, so late drafts are easy to find.
  • Name the writer. Record who is writing each piece and the target word count, so handovers are painless.
  • Record the URL on publication. The link only gets checked once the published URL and anchor are logged.
  • Revisit listings yearly. Directories close and profiles get pruned. A yearly look at Listing Backlinks catches what has gone.

Every pitch has a stage. Every post has a check.

From Pitched to Published, then checked.

How it works

Track guest posts in three steps.

Group posts by project so each campaign stays separate.

  • Log the pitch: add the target site and topic to Guest Posts as Pitched, under the right project.
  • Move it on: update the stage to Accepted, Writing and Published, with writer and dates.
  • Check the link: once published, it is checked with Check all, and daily on paid plans.

Why we built SEOENV

Our own guest post tracking used to be an inbox search. Putting stages on each post was the change that let us see which pitches were stalled and which published posts had lost their link.

What a guest post tracker should record

A guest post tracker should record the stage, the writer and the final link. In addition, Google warns against large-scale guest posting campaigns with keyword-rich anchors. So, track anchors per post and keep them varied.

For that reason, pair this page with anchor text analysis. Also see backlink monitoring, paid link tracking and the backlink manager overview.
